Shoulder pain needs the right clinical pattern.
Shoulder pain may relate to the rotator cuff, frozen shoulder, arthritis, the acromioclavicular joint or other causes. Similar symptoms can require different treatment, so assessment comes before a procedure or exercise programme.
We review movement, strength, symptom behaviour and the effect on sleep and function. The plan may include advice, progressive rehabilitation and—when appropriate—discussion of imaging, injection or specialist referral.

Not always. Many shoulder presentations can be assessed clinically, with imaging considered when it is likely to change management.

Are injections always offered for shoulder pain?+
No. Suitability depends on the diagnosis, health factors, previous treatment and the intended role of an injection.
